I love that Portuguese wines are usually made from grapes with names I can barely pronounce. They are so original, with an amazing sense of place. The reds are often big. bold and heady, thanks to a ton of sun ripening these indigenous grapes to the max. This one, normally a couple of quid more but currently on offer, is made from a blend of grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Trincadeira. Loaded with bramble fruits, it’s brilliant with beef stew.
