Currently on offer (it’s normally £9.50), this is just the kind of red required to make these cold, dark winter nights feel not quite so long. Or dark. From southern France, it’s from a small area within Minervois, known for its sweet, juicy reds with soft tannins (the teeth-coating stuff you get in a stewed cup of tea) and real freshness. I loved this – as did everyone else round the table, unfortunately. Meant I only got half a glass. Gorgeous with slow roast lamb.
