This is the gorgeous dry white we had on Saturday Kitchen a couple of weeks ago and honestly, it’s the kind of wine that makes my heart sing. The grape is known as the ‘little rascal’ of Piedmont (literally Arneis translates as little rascal) given it’s fairly tricky to grow. It almost disappeared in the late 20th Century, overshadowed by the other famous Piedmont white Gavi. But it thrives in the rolling hills and sandy soils of Roero DOCG. Packs a stealthy punch with floral notes along with pear and apricot flavours and a dash of spice. Gorgeous with white pizza.
