Currently on offer until the 10th May (it’s normally £9.79), this is definitely worth popping into the basket/trolley. The new vintage is pleasingly pale and – most importantly – full of bright, fresh redcurrant fruit flavours. When buying rose, it’s usually worth going for the youngest wine you can find on the shelves. So, if you’ve got a 2014 and a 2015 on the shelf in front of you, go for the 2015. Freshness is everything when it comes to rose. Made by an Englishman in Provence (with help from a fabulous winemaker called Jo Ahearne, who used to be the winemaker for M&S), this is, by Provence rose standards, fairly cheap, immensely cheerful and fantastically drinkable.
