Made in China. Yes, really! Sent to me by Sainsbury’s to try ahead of Chinese New Year, it’s quite an eye-opener. For starters, it’s surprisingly drinkable (believe me, I’ve tried a few Chinese wines over the years that were anything but). Not only that, it’s really rather good. I mean, if you don’t like your reds pretty oaky, this one’s probably not for you. But if you like smoky black fruits and want to play ‘guess where this is from’ and win, this is worth a try.
