Castillo de Zalin Organic Monastrell

Made from the Monastrell grape (known as Mourvedre elsewhere) in Jumilla, down in southeast Spain, this is a gloriously juicy red with smooth black fruit flavours and a touch of spice. Incredible value given that it’s organic to boot. Perfect Sunday roast red.

  1. I spotted this wine a few weeks ago in my local Co-op. Delicious, soft & subtle then it kicks in, great with rich & tomato flavours, what a find👍

  2. Enjoying this lovely wine right now! Bought in a Co-op in Windermere (English Lake District). Unfortunately or local Co-op (Biggar, South Lanarkshire) doesn’t stock this one :-(. We’ve been enjoying the Kingpin (Tempranillo – Shiraz – Cabernet) which our co-op stocks. Unfortunately not organic … but still a pleasant red (14%).

  3. Why can’t I buy 12 bottles of Castillo de Zalin on line or get it stocked locally.

I’m having exactly the same problem. The wine is displayed as available on the Co-Op website, but no stockists were found. My local Co-Op store in Staffordshire were extremely unhelpful and offered no assistance. Let me know if you get any positive replies!
