So, things are bonkers but – thank goodness – we have wine. Supermarket shelves might be looking a little depleted in places but there are plenty of brilliant independent wine merchants still delivering (check out this list if you’re looking for one). Some are offering great deals including discounts for NHS staff and pledging to make charitable donations for every order received. Another great initiative is #theBIGenglishwinegoodfriday happening this Friday, 10th April at 7pm. The idea came from winemaker Jacob Leadley (he makes fabulous English sparkling wines) who figured that if as many of us as possible order a bottle direct from our local vineyard for a virtual tasting it’ll go some way to help an industry hit hard by the C-word. So I’ll be there, glass in hand, on Friday. Here’s hoping you can (virtually) join me.

Hi Helen, great that wine independents are still delivering, Cru Wines in Wiltshire have been excellent, they could not do enough and a fantastic range of wine delivered two hours later! It was great to see you on Saturday Kitchen, I haven’t watched it for about 15 years so a real treat to chill out for a couple of hours on Saturday morning! Stay safe and sane!
Two hours later – what brilliant service! Thanks for kind words on Saturday Kitchen, is a LOT of fun to do. Stay safe x
Today I found a wine delivery service through a link in this blog post and it arrived 6 hours later. I’m currently enjoying a nice English pinot noir and for that I thank you!
Great news, thank you! Thrilled to be of help and very pleased to hear you have a glass of English Pinot Noir to hand now! Cheers..
