Oeil de Perdrix means eye of the partridge, a reference to the pale pink colour of the wine. Not that I’ve got close enough to a partridge to know otherwise but hey, I love the idea. With its pretty label and pop of colour, this blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir has got just right red fruits and enough biscuity flavours to make it memorable. Impossible to not feel happy when sipping it. Put it with anything pink – smoked salmon and prawns both good.

I was very interested to read your review of this. I was very excited to see a small producer (or so i thought) with a nice sparkling could serve up at the next drinks party. My husband and I looked at each other blankly when drinking it, waiting for the flavours to hit. It was cold and fizzy, but i couldn’t taste ANYTHING! I have since tried the Chandon Rose (Moet’s “diffusion” line from Argentina) and really like that – and its cheaper….
Oh no! What a shame…I’ve tried this on a few occasions recently and it really is a cracker. I’m sure too late for that particular bottle now but if ever the wine tastes flat – or of nothing! – take it back. Bottle variation can happen, for whatever reason. Really hoping you have better luck next time. Thank you for letting me know…
