I have a terrible poker face. That whole ‘can’t tell what they’re thinking’ thing? Whatever it is, it’s usually written all over mine. In marker pen. So when I was told something exciting last week, and then told to keep it quiet until next week, my heart sank. I’m literally bursting to tell you but it’ll have to wait. What I can tell you is that I’m all over the place this week and next. And I’m telling you in the hope that some of you might be near enough one of the events I’m doing to come. Here’s where I’ll be:

  • This Thursday (29th November) I’m at The Mulberry Inn in Chiddingfold, Surrey for a wine tasting & dinner. Click here for more info.
  • Next Tuesday (4th Dec) I’ll be at the Corsham Bookshop in Wiltshire to talk (and make, ofc) Homemade Cocktails. See here for more details.
  • On the evening of the 5th and morning of the 6th December I’ll be at Warborne Farm in Lymington for their annual Christmas Fair with books, wine and knackered tees from FWP By Rae.
  • Finally, on the evening of the 6th Dec I’m kicking off a Gin & Jazz evening (I know! Gin! And Jazz!) at the East End Arms in Hampshire. Get in touch here to check, they might still have a table free.

Hope to see you there. (You can read my poker face).

  1. Hi Helen
I can vouch for the two wines you mention above, both excellent value. The Paul Jaboulet especially is refined and well structured and for anybody who hasn’t tried Viognier this is a brilliant introduction. The Bijou I’ve enjoyed many times and still have a couple of bottles in my rack.
    Salud & drink well
    Dave

  2. There’s ample stock of the Viognier in Lymington at the moment!…(unless your family raid me today!!)
