We’re back from our half term trip to Scotland. And I must say, the views were amazing. Especially this one.
Look closely at the bottle. It’s a magnum, A MAGNUM, of rose. From Sancerre, from a really great producer (I used to buy from them when I was a supermarket wine buyer). It’s perfectly pale, with proper Sancerre flavours of redcurrants. Deliciously delicate, it’s fresh as a daisy too. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this Loire Valley lovely is now on my ‘most wanted’ list for when the sun’s out and there’s a crowd to please, wine-wise. Now I just need to make friends with someone who shops at Costco. Or move to Scotland.
Peace out, winos x
Ps. If you are in London this weekend, love wine and don’t have kids in tow, head to the 2nd annual London Wine Sessions. Run by Emily O’Hare, Sophie Dening and Zeren Wilson, it’s a one day session with lots on offer to taste and wine talks from great wine people including Fiona Beckett (matchingfoodandwine.com) and Victoria Moore (planetvictoria.co.uk). Tickets are £20, find out more here. In a parallel universe, I’m there. In reality, I’ll be at a 5yo’s birthday party.
Great thing about magnums is halving the times you keep having to get up for another bottle! Roll on the summer!
But lifting it is a great workout for the arms…
Marvellous view, as you say! Hope you enjoyed the others too. You'll need a treat after a 5yo party 😉
Was fab. Funny taking them all back to school this morning…house VERY quiet.
